John Hoyland

Painter, printmaker, designer and teacher, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire. John Hoyland attended the Sheffield School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools.

He was elected RA in 1991 with a solo exhibition there in 1999. He is one of the country’s leading abstract painters.

The Tate Gallery, the British Council and other major collections hold his work.
